Frozen Caramel Coffee

homemade caramel frappucino

This past weekend, I was bound and determined to show my husband that he could make his favorite coffee drink at home!  Many people stop by their local coffee shops daily picking up that $5 drink.  In my mind that drink times 5 days a week is $100 a month or more in coffee that I could most certainly use elsewhere in my budget.  My husband does not do this and neither do I, but my husband does spend his extra money on these coffee drinks, so I wanted to show him a homemade alternative.  In my opinion it taste better too!

This recipe does make a blender full, so what I like to do is put them in freezer safe containers such as these, Ball Plastic Containers.  Then, in the morning while you are getting ready for work just sit one out on the counter for a few minutes to thaw.  Once you are heading out the door you can take your drink with you.  I prefer making plenty of these so that I only have to do it one time a week it should fill at least 5 containers and for myself I do not drink these daily.  If you are the same it could likely last you a few weeks.

Let’s not forget all that homemade whipped cream too.  I store this in the fridge and if you are in the mood for whipped cream just put a little on top of your coffee.

Also remember you can use this recipe to make a Mocha Frozen Coffee as well simply replace the caramel syrup for chocolate syrup.  Now, let’s get to this recipe so you can whip up your favorite drink at home!

Enjoy this wonderful treat!

hey i made this and it was delicious,, but when i tried to freeze the rest and thaw out it tooks 2 hours to thaw out. Did i do something wrong or is it that u have to use those “ball” containers? thx!

These are pretty small containers, so it may be that they are small enough that it doesn’t take long at all to defrost. When my husband takes them to work and uses a large cup like 24-32oz, he’ll put them in the fridge the night before to get them defrosted. If it does take longer, I would suggest putting it under some hot water from a few minutes to speed it up. I have a feeling though it’s just that those containers are small.

i make coffee drinks at home all the time, i get one fro a shop once a month as my “out and about” treat while im doing errands but otherwise i make them at home and i can have any flavor i want for alot less.

My daughter and I made the mocha version of these this morning & they were awesome! Ours were decaf though, unfortunately, since I am 9 months pregnant and she is only 4.
