This past week I was given the opportunity from Mars Candies to create and deliver a surprise candy basket to an organization of my choice. I did not have to think twice about the organization I would deliver to, I knew it would be Mend Pregnancy Resource Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Mend focuses on helping mothers who are going through unplanned or unexpected pregnancy. They offer support and assistance to make sure that both the mom and the child get the best possible care. They are there to help with ultrasounds, clothing, classes, food, and much more. Mend is a blessing to our community and to many mothers who simply need someone to tell them that the best part of their life is just beginning.
Before I made my stop at Mend, first I had to create the basket to deliver. I went to my local Walmart in search of Mars candies specifically Snickers. What would a candy basket be without Mini-Snickers?
The candy was easy to find, it greeted us immediately when we entered the store then we headed on over to the aisle of candy.
These cute pumpkin baskets were placed right next to the candy, perfect for my basket!
I also had my helper with me, he would much rather just eat the candy.
Then, he decided to help me pick some out.
Next we took the products home and decorated the basket.
Once we had our basket ready, it was time to head to Mend and deliver it. I was able to deliver this to Nancy Roe, the founder of Mend Pregnancy Resource Center. She was thrilled to receive the gift basket and planned to share it with the women and children that will be visiting the center. Please visit Mend Pregnancy Resource Center for more information.
Nancy has poured her heart into the center and because of her passion and willingness she has helped to save the lives of many. Not only saving lives, but she has also given hope to many young women that need someone to tell them that they are not alone and love on them. I applaud Nancy for her giving heart and believe that she is making a strong difference in our community.
Giving back is very close to my heart as I am sure it is with many of you. I was thrilled to receive this opportunity and also to involve my son with it as well. I want him to learn from a young age that we are to bless others. I want my son to know that we are God’s hands and feet. It is with a giving heart that we are to make a difference in this world.
