Last week my co-worker sent me a recipe for homemade brownies. She found this recipe in an old Hershey’s cookbook, and I adapted it a bit from there. My first thought was, I always knew incredible, chewy brownies did not come from a box! I know it’s a scary thought, but it is true this was my first EVER attempt and success at making brownies completely from scratch.
I made 1 batch of these brownies and split them in two so that I could deliver them to another family I was taking dinner to. Then, I ate 1 of my brownies and then another, then I waited a day before I told my husband what was lurking under that silver dish on the stove. He saw it. He grabbed one, I snatched it!
They were that good. I have been craving more of them since making them!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1 Tsp Vanilla
- 2 Eggs
- 1/2 Cup Flour
- 1/3 Cup Cocoa (The recipe does not call for baking cocoa, I did use it though)
- 1/4 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 Tsp Salt
- 1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350*.
Start by mixing together the wet ingredients then add in dry ingredients and chocolate chips. Continue blending until smooth consistency. Pour the mixture into a 9 inch greased baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes at 350*. Servings will vary on how you cut your slices.
Who needs a slice? I’ll just take the whole pan!
