One of my favorite dishes to eat is Mongolian Beef, so when I saw this recipe for Beef with Snow Peas on Pioneer Woman, I knew I had to try it!
I will start by saying that this took more work than my typical easy dishes! I had to multi-task, I do this all the time; however, it took me much longer in the kitchen. This was definitely a good dish to make during nap time so that I was able to concentrate and make the dish exactly as the recipe instructs.
I did a few things differently one is that I used a thin sirloin steak because it fit my budget much better than flank steak, and it tasted great!
I took one bite of the steak and realized, that I will be using this more frequently in my stir fry dishes. I plan to remake my Pineapple Stir Fry to include this steak as well. Don’t forget now, I am a steak girl!
I also used brown rice to add a bit more nutritional value as opposed to white rice.
This dish was delicious; however, I had my taste buds worked up to the spices of Mongolian beef, and this did not have that taste. I plan to make this again and will be adding Mongolian BBQ Sauce to it, I think that would be a great addition to add a little more zest.
My husband and I both enjoyed this dish and we even let my toddler try a bit. This was a success!
Enjoy!
