Mommy Hates Cooking

Honey Dijion Chicken Tenders

I have seen many types of chicken tenders that are sold throughout the store as ‘ready to eat’.  The more that I have been cooking, the more I realize that these ‘ready to eat’ products may be some of the most unhealthy items to purchase.  I figured this out fast, as nearly all of our meals consisted of this up until the last 6 months, immediately after I started cooking regularly, my husband and I started loosing weight.  Strange right?

It just gave me a vivid picture of how bad some of the foods were that we were eating, which included store bought chicken tenders.  The more I realized how quickly this affected our weight, I realized the same for my son.  Not necessarily that he lost weight, but I wanted him to be eating healthy.  This does not mean we do not have fast food every now and then and cookies of course, but I want my family to have healthy foods regularly and the not so healthy foods only occasionally.

One of the types of chicken tenders that my family loves are Honey Dijon Chicken Tenders.  The recipe I used is extremely simple and easily can be done as part of batch cooking to freeze some that can be reheated in the microwave later.

I served these with steamed carrots and baked potatoes.  These are very affordable and kid friendly!

Enjoy!
