Start the new year with some great new salad recipes with these 15 Easy Salad Recipes!
It’s a new year and that means everyone is really working on those resolutions, right? For me, it’s more goals to stay on track with my eating habits and to live a better life overall.
I’m a worrier and have high anxiety, so it really starts to eat away at you when you are like that. I’m trying to make strides to do more living and less worrying, but of course it’s a daily battle.
So this year my resolution is more of a goal to eat healthy consistently and to simply live life instead of worrying about life.
It seems simple in theory…putting it into practice is another thing of course.
In saying that though, salads are becoming a regular occurrence on our menu.
I like to have a nice salad for lunch. If you work outside the home, a mason jar salad is a great option.
Have you tried a mason jar salad?
How do you create a mason jar salad?
The idea behind the mason jar salad is that you put your dressing in first.
This means that the dressing is on the bottom and then your salad is built on top.
The great thing here is that when you pour out that salad from the jar, the dressing is then right on top of your salad.
Since it’s on the bottom in the jar, it doesn’t get the lettuce soggy at all! This is a go-to hack for prepping meals ahead as well. It’s very easy to prep a few mason jar salads to have on hand throughout the week.
We’ve found that having them already prepped and ready go to makes it less tempting to go get fast food. These are easy to just grab and go from the fridge, which is actually even easier than grabbing fast food.
My biggest craving too…Chick-Fil-A Fries. I go there with every intention to stick to a salad and somehow I just tell myself sneaking fries from the kids doesn’t count.
They don’t, right?
